Yesterday was really hard. Every day is difficult without you but the Christmas lunch is something we always did together, and I couldn't face it without you. I thought back to how you would cook for everyone there and I would stand and wash up, take food out. Everyone from the family pitched in with preparing vegetables the day before, waiting tables, or washing up. We would stand and natter away, then I'd enjoy a slice of chocolate cake when we had a short break to eat.
I'm sorry I couldn't help the people doing it this year, I just couldn't face it without you.
